The age old question ‘what is the Blue’s to you?’ I’ve been told it is the music of the soul, the passion and the pain. Blues is about the story for some, and for others the rooted connection of the emotion behind the artists story. Blues even covers the gamete of emotions one can experience during tough times. Ironically, with Blues, there is always a light at the end of the tunnel. Good times.
Festivals are always fun! Multiple stages, up and coming artist, the great artist of our time or time past…Diverse in so many ways…from the musicians to the attendees! I’m sure we have all been ‘surprised’ to see our high school math teacher rocking out to Nirvana. [ not an actual event…for memory jog only :) ] These are some of my favorite festie photographs.
Props to Mother Nature for always putting on the best show! No stage lights, no filters, no rogue…what you see is what you get … and I am pretty sure we are all grateful for the consistency in her theatrics.
Within the connection of the person playing their instrument to the instrument itself, that connection offers us an opportunity to see the personally of the two joined together in creating music; that not only makes their heart sing, but ours as well. The energetic vibration(s) are now an individual personality, and is unique in its own space. We should forever seek to raise our vibration in the presence of these united personalities.
I never really connected with doing posed work, not until I took this feature photo. I got Louise to play ‘model’ with me. I captured facets of strength in years gone by of a woman who still wanted to be a little girl. This sassy woman I called grandma.
What is roots music? To me, roots is not only the origin of each genre of music, but the source of the first sound that was made, the sound that allows all sounds. Each artist I chose to feature in this category has struck the root of the genre of music that they love, the root that loves them and shares its joy in its sound with them.
